Well, time sure has flown by! I'm about 33-34 weeks along. My due date keeps changing so our Lilly Elise could be here anywhere between the last week of March or the 1st week of April. I hope we'll be able to have another ultrasound just to see where her measurements are at! She's a feisty little thing! She rarely let's her dad feel her movements, just like Leah, and yet when she hears his voice she starts moving like crazy!
We have a doctor's apt tomorrow, so we at least get to hear her little heartbeat! we love taking Leah with us just for the sheer joy in her face when she gets to hear her baby sisters heart beating. It's so precious! When I had to get my blood drawn for the 1st glucose test that I took, we had Leah with us, and she threw the biggest fit because we didn't hear Lilly's "heartbeep" as Leah puts it. It was so sad and cute. It took about 10 min to calm her down. And anyone who knows Leah knows she is NOT the kind of child to throw a fit very often. And on the rare occasion that she does decide to throw one, it's pretty much over as fast as it started. So this really caught us off guard!
Health wise, so far, everything is looking good (keeping fingers crossed) I did however have to go back and do a 3 hour glucose test. Yuck! Because I just had blood work done before the test and couldn't drink anything, getting blood from my veins was a big fat joke! They needed to take my blood 4 times, but they had to poke me 9 times in both arms and both hands to get anything. I'm usually good with needles but this made me so nauseous, and they can usually get blood pretty easy so this was new to me. But I'm so thrilled to say that it was worth it because as it turns out I don't have GD and I'm definitely happy about that.
We saved EVERYTHING that we had when Leah was a baby, and boy, are we sure glad that we took good care of everything and saved it! It's saving us a bundle. Over the weekend we went through all of Leah's old things and washed and set it all up! It's a huge load off of my mind! I just really wanted to get things in order and put away. We have her changing table/dresser and armoire set up, her bassinet (which was as big of a pain as it was the first time around!) and her swing. We have all of Leah Jammie's, onesies and outfits that Lilly should be able to wear despite the fact that she'll be born in a different season as Leah. They look brand new! Everyone always gave me a hard time because I was a neat freak about Leah's clothes as she was a baby (still am) but am I glad I didn't listen to them! HA!
We are so excited! we still need to get a crib, but we aren't too worried about that because we have her bassinet and her sleep and play thing. I seriously cannot wait to see her! I'm dying to see how Leah reacts to her little sister! We've really tried keeping her as involved as possible. And she has been amazing about it! She will put toys and books on my belly for Lilly. She randomly comes up to me and hugs and kisses my belly and talks to her. She even ran into our room yesterday, jumped on the bed said hello and hugged Lilly and ignored me and then ran off! It was soooo cute! She really is as excited as we are. And I love it. She's such a loving little girl! I just adore her!
She has her dads love of technology for sure! She figured out how to work his smart phone before I did! When she's at my mom's house she'll get on her computer and brings up games and will sit and play them. She's obsessed with phones and pretty much anything that is tech related. She certainly doesn't get that from me, I'm tech challenged!
We still have alot to fix on our house. Chris has put new flooring in the kitchen and living room, sanded and painted the kitchen cabinets and painted the kitchen and our bedroom. The flooring in the hallway plus the sub floor needs to be replaced. It looks like an airport landing strip in our hallway between the kitchen and living room. It's because the sub floor has to be replaced and Chris hasn't had enough time off from work to get it done yet. We are hoping to get the living room painted and the borders done. I think Leah and I finally made up our minds on which colors we want her room to be, as well as Lilly's. We still have so much to do, but we're excited! I can't wait for our baby to be here and get completely settled in! Good, crazy, times ahead!
