I've been slacking a tad in the blog department lately... Okay I've been slacking alot. It all started when Chris accidently dropped the laptop on the floor and killed the hard drive. He's had to fix it and re-install all of the programs that were lost when he dropped it. And so I'm getting used to the new programs he installed for uploading photos from our cameras. And I hate them. Alot.
So I have lots of catching up to do, and I will try to get on that soon. Or at least sometime this year :) My Leah bug is growing up so fast! She's adorable! Love her!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!!!
Tomorrow, on that day 26 yrs ago, my wonderful husband was born! I am so grateful to my mother in law for bringing this amazing husband and father into the world. I am such a lucky girl to have him as my partner. He has brought so much joy into my life and I don't even want to begin to think of how my life would be without him in it.It's almost impossible to think about my life before him. We have been through so much together, and there is no one else I'd rather experience the ups and downs of this life with, than him. He puts up with me and all of my "issues" with little complaint. He is a hard worker, a dedicated and attentive hands on father, a thoughtful and caring husband, a smarty pants, and an overall great guy. I love you babe! I hope that you have a wonderful birthday, you more than deserve it!

Welcome to the world, baby Evelyn.
Evelyn was born this morning around 8:00 weighing in at 7lbs 10oz
measuring at 18 1/2 inches with lots of beautiful BLONDE hair and bright BLUE eyes!!! She is absolutely beautiful!
No one has been able to hold her yet because she, like her sister Abby, got lots of fluid in her little lungs and has to have oxygen and an IV. I hope she gets better soon. I just love her already!
More posts and pics to come. So much to blog about, so little time.

My brother Scott...
I just talked to my brother tonight for an hour and a half and... It... Was... Awesome! I cannot tell you how happy I am that he called me. He is just so easy going and not afraid to be himself. I am still on cloud nine about the whole thing, and to be honest, it feels really weird that they are not here right now visiting. It feels so natural now, like they were always a part of our lives. I can't wait to meet the rest of his family and thank them for supporting and assisting him in his efforts to find his birth mom. Not only have they helped him, but they have changed our lives in such a way that it is hard to describe. My mom now has a certain peace in her heart that I know she wouldn't have if Scott was not in her life. His presence, along with his family's, has brought such joy in our lives. And for that, I am truly thankful to everyone who has had their hand in making this possible.

It's been a long time coming...
This weekend will definitely be one that I will never forget. And I wouldn't want to forget it, ever! Saturday morning was spent in such anticipation to meet my BROTHER and his family.
Well, it didn't come soon enough for us, we were incredibly excited. So we were all waiting in my parents living room (except for my dad and Chris, they were at work sadly) But when we did finally get that knock on the door, we were all too nervous to answer it! Leave it to Isabella and Elayna who ran to door and opened it. It was such an amazing thing to have witnessed.
Scott, his wife Char (possibly the sweetest woman you'll ever meet and beautiful too) his adorable daughters,Shelby and Sierra showed up with the warmest smiles and a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for my mom. To see a son that has been searching for his birth mom for such a long time, and a mother who has longed to see the child that she didn't want to part with, reunite, is something that I will hold dearly forever.
Almost immediately, all of the fears that have been wreaking havoc on my mind since I found out, disappeared almost as fast as they first developed. We got out all of the photos and they brought theirs and we just sat and talked and compared pictures. It was incredible to see that Scott has so many of the same traits that run in our family. Even his children have these traits! They are such an amazing family. His adoptive parents did such an amazing job taking care of him.
Later on that night Scott, Char and their adorable girls took my mom to see Scott's oldest two children Mercedes and Stefan ( I hope I spelled those right!?!?) at his son's wrestling match. I hope that I will get to meet them someday too! But I was able to see pictures of them and they are so cute!
After they got back from that, my dad and Chris had come home from work and Scott and Char very kindly took all of us out to dinner. We had such a good time! ( well, I know I did and I hope they did as well )I got to sit next to Shelby and we pretty much talked the whole time. I just love those two girls already. They are just too sweet and cute for words. They are so close in age to Izzy and Elayna, the whole time they were here, they were inseparable. I was so afraid that it would be awkward and tense, but it felt so natural talking to them and hearing all about their lives. One of my favorite parts of their visit was when Scott asked Angie and I if we minded that he call our mom, well, mom. Heck no we didn't mind at all!
It really made me ridiculously happy that he wanted to call her that. He has two amazing, unselfish mom's. I cannot express the joy that their visit has brought us. We were so happy to be able to pretty much spend the whole weekend with them. We love them so much already! We were so sad that they had to leave. I wish that we lived closer to them so we could visit often. We got such a kick watching Scott talk and seeing the resemblances in Scott and my mom. And trust me, there are many.
I still cannot believe that one week ago, I thought that I had only one brother, and his life was tragically cut short. And now I have a brother who is alive and well and has a great family of his own. I hope and pray that we will be able to see each other often and keep in touch forever. Thank you so much Scott, Char, Shelby, Sierra ( Mercedes and Stefan, I hope to meet you soon!) for allowing us to be a part of your lives. Ours is even better because of the simple fact that you didn't give up, even when it got tough and you hit dead end after dead end. Because of that, we now have you guys in our lives. And we couldn't be happier about it. Thank you for everything!

Is this really happening?
This has definitely been a week I will never forget... Did that last sentence leave a little to be desired? Well, allow me to explain.
When my mother was very young before she met my father, she met a man that she fell in love with, wanted to stay with him but it didn't work out. And she ended up getting pregnant. She was so young and unwed and only wanted the best for her baby boy, and knowing that she could not provide for him, she placed him up for adoption with a few stipulations, that she would only give him up to a family that was LDS and could afford to give him the things she could not.
Flash forward 37 years later to my birthday. She got a phone call that would change all of our lives. A woman called her and asked her if she was the woman who placed that baby boy up for adoption and she told my mom that he has been looking for her for so long.
His name is Scott, and the woman who called is his wife, Charlotte.
My mom never told any of us, not even my father that she had had another son whom she placed for adoption. And I like to think of myself as an understanding person, and so I do understand her reason for going about it the way that she did. So it came as a complete shock when she told me earlier this week. I remember when she told me, my knees felt like they were about to fold right underneath me. I just started crying and saying 'what?'
I just want to make things clear here before I continue with my post. I am not angry at all about this new revelation, or with my mother. On the contrary, I am very excited to meet him and his wife and children. I do wish, however, that my mom would have told me. But there is nothing any of us can do about it now. She felt like she had done the best thing for all of us at the time, and how can I judge her for that? I can't. No one can. I can't change it, but I can accept it, and move forward.
I think I am still in a state of shock about it. Up until this point, my life was always been a certain way. I had already begun the process of accepting the fact that my sister Alycia and Brother Anthony had died, and I would never see them in this life and it would only ever be my only living sister and I (a grim prospect at times :) hee hee j/k) So it's a huge life altering thing that has just happened.
Obviously I cannot for tell the future so I have no idea what will come of all of this. But I have an open mind and heart, and I really am excited to meet him. Tomorrow is the big day. He and his family are coming down to meet us and our whole crazy family. Wow, I really am still in shock! My mind is still having trouble processing it all. Is this really happening? Do I really have a long lost brother? I have so many questions. What's he like? What sort of things does he like? What does his voice sound like? Will he like us? Will his family like us? How do they feel about this? I have a brother?!?!?! I've always wanted a big brother!
Well, that's all I have to say for now. I really hope he likes us.

One year older....
As of Last Saturday, it's official, I am 23 yrs old. Yay...
But on the brighter side, I had a great birthday. On Thursday Chris took me to a Bed and Breakfast, and it was sooo fun! When we got to the room, I went ahead of Chris and when I opened up the door I thought we were in the wrong room. Chris had them put rose petals on the floor and in the shape of a heart on the bed and along the bathtub with some candles (flame less, but still pretty and they smelled of vanilla) We had a fantastic time, and the breakfast was so good!

On Saturday I received a bunch of birthday phone calls and yes, text messages too, as well as a beautiful bouquet of red roses from my mother in law(they were beautiful, thank you!) That afternoon my sweet sister in laws took me out to a delicious lunch at the Olive Garden and gave some really lovely and thoughtful gifts, I love them all, especially the bracelet and earrings! Thank you so much Kim and Katie, I love ya!!!

These are the pretty Gerber Daisies my hubby got me. Love them!
I tried to take a picture of the bracelet and earrings, but the light kept reflecting off of the bracelet and so all you could see was the bright light. But you can take my word for it, they are so cute!
Later that night Chris was supposed to take me out to dinner for my birthday and then my family was going to meet and have cake and ice cream at my mom and dad's. There was some confusion. My mom thought that we were going to have dinner as a whole family, but Chris really wanted to take me out on my actual birthday, I don't know why but it was really important to him. Long story short, my mom got upset, Chris got upset, I got upset and no one got to go out to dinner. Instead, I had had enough and took off to the store and bought a sweater for myself. My mom said it best when she said to me, 'Are you ever going to have a decent birthday?' This stuff always happens to me on my birthday. Oh well. Most of it was good and I really have no reason to be ungrateful. My dad bought me Cafe Rio on Monday to make up for it. Yum! They tried. That's all that really counts. Thanks everyone! I love you!
