Precious moments I'm grateful for

I know I already put a post up for today but I couldn't let this day pass without writing about a sweet moment I had with just Leah and me. We just came back from my parents house and were winding down and getting ready for bed. We climbed into mine and Chris' bed, got four short books and cuddled up to read. I don't know why this touched me so much, but it just did. Maybe it was because it reminded me of when she was a new born and she went through a short faze where she couldn't fall asleep unless I held her in my arms while in bed. Chris and I loved waking up to the sight of her right there beside us, right in the position she and I fell asleep in.

I felt such an overwhelming sense of gratitude for being right there in that moment with my baby girl, all cozy and comfy in her cupcake jammies, her hair down (my favorite way to have it 'styled') and framing her chubby little angel face, looking through her books and getting so excited when we started a new book. She was so happy just to be with me. I wish I could have made that moment last for a little longer. It really makes me so sad that time goes by so incredibly fast.

Pretty soon she's gonna be too old to want to cuddle with me. She'll want to spend all of her free time with her friends. And I will be way too old and uncool for her. But I will always have that precious moment with her to look back on and cherish along with many more. And for that... I am truly thankful.

Leah's 15 month check up...

We took Leah to her 15 month check up today, and can I just say what a good girl she was! She had to have a few shots, but she only cries for a few seconds and then she's done. I love her Doctor. He always says he's so happy to see her and that he's very impressed with her. You know Chris and I love to hear that!

Here are her stats:
Weight:24lbs About the 50th percentile
Height:32 1/2 inches About the 90th percentile

We have a pretty tall girl on our hands!

We have to take her back in a month for the rest of her shots though because one of the shots didn't get shipped, and then she has to get the other half of one.
Chris and I also got our flu shots done while we were there. So glad we got that over with so we don't have to worry about it.
Winter hasn't even arrived yet and I'm already wanting it to be over. Yuck.

Random things...

I bought some of those foam curlers for Leah's hair and I was finally able to test them out on her last night. I'm too scared to use a curling iron. I love playing with her hair! She has the best texture and color. I usually keep it pretty simple because she can get away with it, but my mom coaxed me in to using the curlers. I vividly remember my mom using them on mine and my sister's hair all the time when we were little. My sister hated it. I on the other hand would beg my mom to. I just really disliked having to sleep with them in. Anyway, getting back to the story, Leah already has naturally curly hair but the curlers just gave them more added definition. I only had to leave them in for twenty minutes, and they turned out so cute. I love how it looks!

Yesterday we went shopping and got Leah the cutest outfit

She has the perfect pair of shoes to go with this outfit!
I can't wait until she can fit into it!

She also got a new pair of super cute jammies for a killer deal. I love them! One pair has cute little lady bugs and the other one has little cupcakes. And she also got her Halloween outfit and some adorable hair accessories too. I cannot wait to see her in them.

I was able to get a few new Halloween decorations for super cheap, and I really like them.

So ths week and weekend was pretty hectic, but also a lot of fun. Today we went shopping, visited family and friends. And I was able to spend some time with my hubby. My sister came over and decided to take Leah with her, so Leah got to spend time with her cousins and had a blast. Well that's just about it. Leah has her check up on Monday so I'll be posting about that, no doubt.

Sad news...

Today my sister in law Kim, told me that her husbands' grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She is a very nice lady, and from what I've seen she's a wonderful grandma.I hope for nothing but the best for their family. We love Kim, Brandon and their girls, and hope everything will be fine. So to any one who reads this, please keep her and her family in your prayers at this time. I know she will be in ours.

Abby's birthday party...

We went to Abby's birthday party yesterday, and can I just say how much fun it was! We had delicious sandwiches, decorated cookies, beat up a pinata, and pinned the tail on the donkey. It was so cute watching Leah decorate cookies. She loves to decorate like her momma! My sister is the BEST baker. She can bake anything from scratch and the cake and cookies were so yummy. I think that was the most fun Leah had at a birthday party so far. I cannot wait to post the pictures. She new exactly what she was doing when she was hitting the pinata too! Everyone just laughed histerically when she was hitting it. She's a doll- I just cannot get enough of her.

Abby got lots of great gifts and my sister even got gifts for all the kids along with the goody bag- I know, how sweet is that! Leah just loved her goodie bag. Thanks Aunt Angie and Uncle Patrick for the ridiculously fun party! We had so much fun.

Abby in her cute jammies that me and uncle Chris got her.
Now she and Leah are twinners!

Too cute!

Happy Birthday Abby Dabby!!!

It's my adorable niece Abagail's first birthday today! Can I just tell you how much I love that stinking cute little girl. She always puts me in a good mood when I see her and she is always so happy. I love that I can make her laugh at the drop of a hat. She loves to chow down on any kind of food and she and Leah love to play tug of war with all of their toys. They always have so much fun together. Yesterday they even chased each other around and actually wrestled with each other! I love my Abby. I hope she has the best birthday ever!

It was so sad when she was born because she got fluid in her lungs and got pneumonia. My heart broke for my sister and patrick because they couldn't have her in their room for about a week. I wasn't able to see her for a week because she was so sick only her mommy and daddy could see her. She is one tough little girl that's for sure.

Happy Birthday Abby Dabby! I love you stinker

Leah loves the Maes House

Leah pretty much spent the whole day at her Auntie Angie's house. And can I just tell you how much fun she had! While she's at their house, she is allowed to pretty much do anything, eat anything and have as much fun as possible, you know, the stuff she's not allowed to do at our house. And she sure did! She ate a cheeseburger, ice cream sandwich, chocolate milk and a whole banana! She had the time of her life and wore everything she ate. We took her home in one of Isabella's old Winnie the Poo t-shirts that was way too big, but looked incredibly cute on her anyway. I can't wait to post the picture of the aftermath of the Maes' house. I have to post on my mom's computer because my power adapter has a short in the cord so we have to buy a new one. Usually Chris, aka, Mr. fix it, can fix things like that but this one is impossible! I haven't checked my email for days! I hate checking it after a while cause then i have to sifter through so much junk so I avoid it like the plague. I'll check it in about a month hehe. I just love to hit that spam button. So I might have to post them later.

I'm so proud of how my sister has changed. She's become one of my best friend. Sad to say that I never thought that would be possible. But I think she's finally grown up and found Heavenly Father. I also never thought she'd be as attached to Leah as she is. She's always calling or coming over to see how she's doing and brings her treats and spoils her rotten. When Leah was being tested for CF she prayed for her for 40 minutes, and asked her whole congregation to keep Leah in their thoughts and prayers. How sweet! Being an aunt to six beautiful little girls myself, I know that's what Aunts are for. I love all of my special girls! I'm so lucky! I just wish I could spend alot more time with all of them. Leah is one lucky little girl to have that many people who love her in her life. She has the best Aunts and Uncles! And she loves all of them so much.

FALL IS HERE!!!

I love, love, love fall!
Ever since I was a little girl I've adored fall(everyone else loved summer, I guess they all got some sense and jumped on the bandwagon j/k) I would love the days during fall where I would get to walk home from school or when my dad would rake the leaves into these huge piles so my sister and I could jump in them. The smell of fall is so therapeutic and calming to me. I love watching the leaves change color and the sound they make when you step on them. The reds, greens, oranges, and yellows that you see everywhere. It truly felt like fall today because of the rainfall. I love to take Leah outside to jump in the puddles. I used to love doing that when I was little. I love the pumpkin and Cinnamon and apple smells of fall cooking. Fall is here! I just hope it lasts a little longer than the last few years. What a friggin jip!

Hogle Zoo and Thanksgiving point...

Chris and I are huge fans of museums, so on Tuesday we took Leah to
the museum at Thanksgiving point. And boy did she have fun. I cannot wait to get our pass so we can go and see all the places there. And Leah is free until she turns three, so we're gonna definitely take advantage of that!

All the pictures of Leah at the museum are gonna be like this,
her running away. That's what happens when we put her down she just takes off laughing. Too cute

At the zoo: she's so beautiful!

These two were taken at Nona's ( my mom ) She LOVES the computer there and loves to 'type' and play with the mouse.
I just adore her.

Leah's test results...

We have been waiting for the test results for almost a week, and it was driving us crazy! I feel so bad for people who have to wait longer for their test results. Well last night we were at the gateway to get some ice cream and walk around downtown Salt lake. Right when we got up to Ben and Jerry's, I heard my phone ring. But it was buried in the diaper bag, so I missed the call. I didn't know the number bit they left a message. It was Leah's doctor, Dr. miles calling with Leah's test results....

She does not have Cystic Fibrosis!!! To say we're so thrilled is the understatment the end all understatements! She will, however she will most likely have to have her adnoids removed. But I'll take that over CF any day. It has really put everything into perspective and I have so much respect for family's who care for children who have a serious illness or special needs. Even though they may not see themselves as doing anything special, they are. It takes a special person to care for a special child. I have a few friends who have members of their family with serious illnesses or special needs, and they are the most amazing self less, dedicated people I've ever been blessed to know. They have taught me so much throughout the years.

Thank you to everyone who has had us in their thoughts and prayers. To the friends and family that have called us every single day to ask us if we knew the test results yet or just to comfort us. My family would do anything for Leah, and they have done so much. It truly means so much to us to know that we are loved.
Heavenly father has truly blessed us again.

Leah's test...

We took Leah to have her sweat chloride test done this morning. She did so well throughout the whole ordeal. But what do you expect from a child who, for whatever reason, is always so good at the doctors. They put these straps on her forearms, two for each arm and hook the straps up to a machine that sends these vibrations through her skin. That part scared her a little and she did start to cry for a few seconds.

She had to sit still that for 25 minutes. Poor thing. But she barely squirmed. Then they take the straps off and put gauze where the straps were and wrapped her arms in sheets of 'plastic wrap' and then put hot packs on top of the plastic wrap, and then wrapped gauze around the hot packs to secure them. I do have to say that she looked so cute with all of that stuff piled on her cute little arms. By that point the Doctor said she could move around and she had fun lifting her arms that had tripled in size, up and down.

They do this because they need to test how much salt is in her sweat. Typically, people with CF have very salty skin. So about 25 minutes after the doctor put the hot pack on, he then unwrapped my baby's arms, took the gauze to weigh it and see if they had collected enough sweat to test or else we'd have to do it all over again. But fortunately, there was enough to test. They made us come on the weekend but won't test it until this coming week!
That's the part I do not get.

They were so good to Leah, and she really liked them alot.
The waiting is really starting to get to me. We're trying (and sometimes failing) to not dwell on it and make these next few days until we know the results that could change our entire lives forever, the best couple of days. Where everything is kind of innocent. That's the best way I can put it. Of course it doesn't help that I'm stuck here with the the flu. What's with the timing? But we're still trying.

Leah...

I took Leah to the doctors because she's been sick so much lately.
She always has had a very difficult time breathing, right from the moment she was born and it just gets so much worse when she's sick. Her doctor looked through her medical history, and ran some tests. He said we need to take her to Primary Children's medical center to have her tested for Cystic fibrosis. She hasn't gained any weight for months and in fact has been losing weight. To say that I'm terrified is the understatement of the century. I've done nothing but cry and pray all day since he told me. I'm so scared. She is my all. she is my baby, my sunshine. I feel that she is my reason for even being here. My purpose. I feel that I need her more than she needs me, I know that sounds strange. I cannot bear to think about her being so sick... I love her so much. Everything about her makes me so happy. All I want for her is to be healthy and happy and to be a good person. That's all I've ever wanted for my Leah, as any parent would. I really don't even know what to think. I'm so scared.

Sick and tired of being sick, and tired!

Well it all started last week when Leah had gotten a runny nose and escalated from there. She then developed a cough and a slight fever. Even though she's sick, she's still got such a great strong spirit and hasn't let her illness get her down.
Well, a few days ago Chris got a a really bad stomach ache. It was so bad that he stayed home from work. He never stays home work. And then two days ago I started to get a runny nose, a fever, and now I've got a really bad, painful cough. It's so hard to get any sleep so we are all sooo tired. We just got over being sick!

I think we're truly sick and tired of being so sick and tired.

I've been tagged by Jackie!!!

4 Random things I love about my husband:

1. The way he laughs when he thinks something is so funny. I cannot get enough of it!

2. His amazing work ethics. He is truly one of the hardest working guys out there, and he does it without complaint and he doesn't half a** it either.

3. How he is such wonderful father to Leah. He lights up when he is around her, and he is so proud of everything she does. He is so attentive.

4. How he loves me unconditionally. No matter how I look, feel, or think. He loves me for all that I am. The good the bad and the long road ahead. He's amazing. I'm the most spoiled lucky, girl ever ( next to Leah that is. Hehe )

4 movies I have watched more than once:

1. The last Sin Eater ( cry every time )
2. Fun with Dick and Jane
3. Breakfast at Tiffany's
4. Benny and Joon ( huge johnny depp fan, since I was little)

4 T.V. shows I watch:

1. 30 Rock!
2. The simpsons
3. The Office
4. ANTM
Although we really don't watch tv that much anymore so I haven't seen any of these since their last season.

4 People I email regularly:

1. My mother in law, Ruth
2. my sister
3. Any one who emails me...

4 Things that get on your nerves:

1. Stuck up people who always brag, ignorant, selfish, self centered people, or when they copy your original ideas, unless people are ok with that. I know that's four things in itself. But I have a lot of things/people that annoy me.

2. When people say yum-o. Hello, you're not Racheal Ray! Even she shouldn't say that, I love RR but could strangle her for that. I just want to cringe when I hear it. That 'trend' needs to die and be buried with all of the other annoying terms.

3. Bad manners. Need I say more?

4. Really bad lame movies. I'm not easily entertained by unnessicery violence, nudity, gross/crude humor and excessive swearing.

4 Places I have been:

1. Arizona
2. Las Vegas
3. Mexico
4. Idaho

4 places I would like to visit:

1. Greece
2. Italy
3. Oregon
4. New England in the fall

4 things I'm looking forward to this year;

1. Halloween!!!
2. The holidays
3. Being with my family
4. Watching my baby grow and loving every second of it!
