Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary Chris! Here's to many more years to come, together. I am grateful for all of the memories we have made since embarking on this journey together. The good memories and, yes, even the not so good ones. If there weren't any unhappy times, I would for sure take the good ones for granted, and I am sad to say that I have taken some for granted. But we are learning. We never stop learning. Thank you for being an incredible father to our little angel. And for loving me. I love you.

They grow up so fast...

I cannot believe how fast my little girl is growing up. She says or does something new everyday. And while she still has some of that delightful baby chub left, it's going away a little more everyday. I love it when she makes all of the animal sounds: monkey, doggy, kitty, tiger, duck, just to name a few of my favorites.

She is growing like a weed! About a week ago I went through all of her clothes and shoes that no longer fit her, and I swear I almost started to bawl! I cannot believe that she once was small enough to fit in my belly (even if she was a bigger baby).
her hair is getting so long too. It's such a pretty light brown with golden streaks through it. I always blow dry her hair after she has a bath, and I never really noticed just how long it is getting. I think that probably has to do with her natural curl. It comes back after it's blown dry.

Her long, shiney hair!

Just a few fun pics.

Easter weekend 2009~Sunday

On Easter morning, I was the first one to wake up, and so I decided to wait for Leah and Chris to wake on their own. Well, about an hour later I was just too excited to wait any longer so I woke Chris up and went into Leah's room to get her. Usually she has the ears of a fox and if you even open up her door ever so slightly, she'll pop right up from crib at the sound. But I went in there and she didn't wake up. I moved some things around, coughed, and eventually shook her crib a bit. I know, what a rude mommy I am!

She finally woke up! She was so excited when she saw what the Easter bunny had brought her. I set out a little trail of those Cadbury eggs (NOT the ones with the nasty cream stuff in it. Yuck!) And at first she was only interested in those. But that soon went away as she dug into her basket. I love watching her little chubby angel face light up.

She got some really fun things from our family. She got a really cute outfit from my mom, a butterfly keepsake basket full of goodies from Aunt Angie and Uncle Patrick and her cousins, Leah loves it. And then she got the cutest summer dress ever from Aunt Charlotte, that she hand made herself!!! She made one for all of the girls and they turned out soooo cute! Rozzy, Abagail, and Leah have matching ones, and Isabella and Elana have ones with cherries on them.I just love the way they all turned out. Thanks Char! Is there anything that you can't do?

Later we had an Easter egg hunt and had dinner. It was such a good dinner! We had pasta salad, my mom's potato salad-which is the best potato salad ever! The only kind I'll eat- hamburgers and hot dogs off of the grill, baked ham, strawberry shortcake, and yummy cookie crumb salad. Yeah, I ate way too much, but it was all just too good. Overall we had a great Easter weekend. I just wanted to say how grateful I am for the opportunity to have been able to spend the weekend with my family. And I am so grateful for the resurrection of the Savior. With him in our lives, I know that all things are possible, if we just let our guard down, and let him in.

In the dress that Char made for Leah. Adorable!

Easter weekend 2009 Saturday.

We had a pretty good Easter weekend. I'm going to do this in two parts because there are lots of pics and stuff to write about. Saturday Scott and his family came down to visit for the weekend and got to see one of my favorite Uncles (Uncle Stan) and my older cousin Lonny. They were able to meet Scott for the first time, and it was truly a great moment. I still forget sometimes that before January I still had no idea that I had a brother out there. And even more than that, I forget that for the most part, the rest of my family has yet to meet him.

Later in the afternoon we headed over to my sister and brother in laws house to have an Easter egg hunt. I was so mad that the weather wasn't being cooperative! It was chilly, cloudy, and windy. At first Leah didn't know what to do, but Aunt Katie stepped up and showed her what was what while I was taking pictures of it, and Leah got it like that! That little thing sure is a fast learner! Thanks Kim, Brandon, Katie and girls for the having us over for the egg hunt!

Later that night we had dinner at my parents-my mom's yummy chicken salad sandwiches. And all dyed Easter eggs together. Imagine 12 kids and a bunch of adults trying to dye Easter eggs all at once! Crazy. It was fun though. Leah loved it. She would throw an egg in the bowl of dye, stir it around with an egg spoon, switch it into a different bowl of dye. She then would then take the egg out with her hand and put it in the spoon, and move on to the next egg. It was sooo cute! She was dead serious about it, concentrating only on dying the eggs. So cute!

We then left, exhausted might I add. Poor Leah was so ready to go to bed. We put her down and got things ready for the Eater Sunday to arrive!

Has it really been that long since my last post?!

I guess it has. We've just been so busy that I haven't had the time or energy to post anything. My brother and his family have come down twice in the past two months. And they are coming down again to celebrate Easter with us. Yay! I love Easter. I love what it represents and I love it even more now that I have a sweet little girl to spend it with! Plus we always have the best food on Easter. I'm in charge of the asparagus and the pasta salad. Mmmm can't wait!

I've been busy trying to get things done for the holiday and trying to keep my sanity at the same time :) We've been having such great weather lately and then last week I woke up to some ugly, ominous, gray clouds. I am so damn sick of rain and snow! We got Leah the cutest spring clothes that I'd love for her to wear, I'm 10lbs lighter and am loving Bermuda shorts, and I just know the Easter bunny is going to bring Leah some outdoor toys to play with. So please, please, please nice weather, come back!

I miss the flowers, the bright green grass. The sound of the birds cheerfully chirping away, and the warm sun on my face. I was able to take Leah outside for a little while before the sun set, and we had fun coloring with sidewalk chalk. She was so happy and I swear she is a little artist already! I just love her!

Chris and I busted our humps last night and this morning trying to finish all of the things that needed to be done for Easter. We had to buy for 15, count that, 15 kids, ranging in ages 15 to 1 month old. My mind is fried. I could not figure out what to get everyone. I just hope that they like what we got them.We got done a few hours ago, and I am beat! It was great exercise though! I plan on really hunkering down and getting more exercise into my routine. It's been so crazy trying to keep up with everything, especially now that I've started school again. But that's a different post all on it's own.

Well that's it for now. Happy Easter weekend! Hope it's safe and great for everyone.
