Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas! Crazy at times but great non the less. Chris' mom came in from California and we met up on Christmas Eve for dinner at IHOP. And it was fun. Leah had such a fun time and that made my night! She was glued to her grandma. It was cute.

Chris and I went to bed around 2 am that night, and I woke up at 5 and could not go back to sleep. But I decided to be nice and not wake Chris up until 7 unless Leah woke up before then. Well, my girl decided she'd rather sleep. So I woke Chris up, put our casserole in the oven, and we opened our gifts to each other. I really loved that we got to spend that time together!
We eventually had to wake Leah up, and an was she excited that Santa came! I love her face and big eyes that were so surprised! She said " Santa came, Santa came!" She sat down to open her gifts but then stood back up and asked " did Santa eat his cookies all gone?!" It was so cute!

She was absolutely spoiled! Not necessarily by us. My mom and dad and aunt Sharon and cousin Jason got her some pretty amazing gifts! Her favorites so far are the ladybug pillow pet that Santa brought her that she's been dying for , the jewelry/music box we got her, her alpha robot and ixl from us, her prayer doll from aunt Sharon, her fur real pet dog from Jason, her Tangled dress up clothes and outfit grandma & grandpa got her ( she actually hugged the clothes and said " oh I just love it!") And that's just from part of my side of the family!

Chris' mom then decided to come over and open gifts. She got leah an Angelina ballerina doll house, little toys to go with it, a shirt from Hawaii, coloring supplies, and she was sooo happy! Leah loves anything and everything to do with coloring/drawing . She gave me an awesome Stila eyeshadow pallete and gift card to Michaels! Chris got a gift card to Gamestop. He was thrilled! It was so nice of her. We then headed out to Kim and Brandon's to see them and exchange gifts. Leah got such neat gifts! We did too! She got an adorable plush monkey, a crayon roll case with crayons and a coloring book and an awesome lite brite! They are much better designed these days than when I had one! Hers is a cute pink and is battery operated! Love it! They also got Lilly the cutest little outfit! We had so much fun over there. It was great. Then it was time to say goodbye to Ruth, zach, and Becky, because they had to get back to California. We had to get going as well.

We headed back home to put the ham in the oven for dinner with my family and my aunt and two cousins. Dinner was ridiculously delicious! We had baked ham with my moms special glaze, turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoe casserole, stuffing, and lots if goodies. My sis got leah a gorgeous fiber optic butterfly night light that she just loves! And she got Lilly a bath lotion set and cute burp cloths. We were having a great time... until at around 9:30 my aunts keys got Locked in her car while it was running. They tried everything, other than breaking the window to get it opened, and no luck. My aunt decided to call a locksmith and pay the outrageous fee. Finally at about 1:30 am the gut came and in 3 min it was opened. My poor aunt! At least she gets reimbursed for it! But it was terrible.
J
Other than that horrible incident, we had a great Christmas! We got to spend the day all of our loved ones and it makes me realize how blessed we are to have all of them in our lives! Gifts are good and fun and good and fun to give, but it's having those people around that make the holiday season wonderful. I loved it, and Leah got to see all her family in one day. We are blessed for sure!

just an update

Time has just been flying by! Halloween is next weekend!
I'll be 17 weeks next week and hopefully we'll be able to find out what
We are having at my next appt. We're so excited! Leah has been
such a doll about this baby! She kisses my belly all the time and
If she sees something on tv or in an ad for babies, she gets excited
says we need to get it for the baby or circles it in the ads! I love it!
She's so sweet and excited. It's so important to us that we include
Leah as much as possible with the baby. And I love that she really
wants to be a part of it.

We had our first ultrasound on the 29th and so far ( fingers crossed )
Everything looks good! I'm on week # 4 of having bronchitis. I finished
my meds and hope the cough and congestion goes away soon. Leah hasnt
been feeling well either. We were on our way to the pumpkin patch yesterday
and all of the sudden she started vomiting. So no pumpkin patch this year.
I just hate when she's sick and feel like there is nothing you can do. She was
So excited to go to pick out her pumpkin. We felt just terrible. I hope my baby
Feels better soon!

New Beginnings and suprises

Well, we've finally moved into our new house, and we are so excited! It needs work, but we are dealing with it one day at a time. We bought some new wood flooring for the kitchen and living room, and I cannot wait until it's finished!!!

On a different note... We are expecting a new addition to our family! I'm 8 weeks pregnant! I had my first doctors appointment today. He said that everything looks good and my due date is around April 12th. I've always wanted to have a spring baby! Thank goodness he gave me medicine for the nausea and vomiting! I couldn't take it anymore. Especially at work. That was the worst!
At first I thought I was just coming down with the flu because I was so sick and I couldn't keep anything down. But then I realized after a while that I wasn't getting any better. I guess I was in denial because we'd been trying since last October and I never became pregnant. So we decided to stop trying for a while, and out of the blue here comes this baby! We're so excited! We've been wanting a baby for so long.

Leah is so stinking cute about this baby! When we told her she said she wanted a sister. So we'll see! I'm going to try to keep this as updated as possible, but we don't have internet hooked up yet and it's difficult to update on my phone. but That's all for now!

Closer and closer...

Our realtor called us yesterday while we were at Lowe's and said 'congratulations!' the house is ours!!!
Woo hoo!!!! I'm so excited! We're having he inspector coming to inspect the house tomorrow and then we just have to close and it's ours!
I'm crossing my fingers for the inspection to go well with little to no problems. So we'll see!

Getting closer and I love Leah Rose

We just signed some of the papers for the house we want to buy this morning!
I hate getting my hopes up, but it feels like we're getting closer and closer to
getting into our first house!!!

On a different note, Leah seems to feeling a little better. She got her appetite
back and has been running around all morning. Man, I love that little girl!!!
She really had blossomed into an amazing little girl!

- she is a perfectionist! She likes making sure things get
put away where they belong and will let you know if things
are out of place.
-she is so polite! We rarely have to reminde her to say her pleases and thank yous and your welcome.
- she loves playing with her cousins and asks everyday if
she's going to see them.
- she is a grandma and grandpa's girl to the core!
She insists on seeing them everyday and when she's
in trouble guess who she asks for??? Yep, grandma &
grandpa!
- she notices everything! You really can't get anything past
her.
- i love that every morning she wakes up she crawls into bed
with us and always greets us with "good morning mommy,
good morning daddy!"
- I love that she tells us she loves us and I live for her random
kisses.
I just adore her. I can't believe we are blessed enough to be her
parents! I am soooo grateful for her. For her love and even her sassy
little attitude.

Yeah, it's been a while!

I used to be so good at keeping up with my posts and now I'm lucky if I post a few a year! In my defense though, I have been really busy this year.

My little Leah Rose is sitting next to me fast asleep. She's had a rough day.
Poor thing has some sort of virus or something because she's been throwing up off and on all day and has had a fever. I don't what it is about the month of March and April that has all three of us sick every week?! Chris has a nasty cold, and I am suffering from a stupid UTI. Yuck...

My dad had surgery last Thursday to fix his HUGE hernia that he's had for a few years. My sister and I went with him, and man, it was terrible seeing him like that! He's never had to have surgery before in his life, so I felt really bad for him. He's recovering well. Even despite the fact that he didn't listen to the doctor and tried to work in his garden and do other things right after his surgery! We're just thankful that it went well and he is doing better!

On another note; we just may have found our house!!! Granted it's not our 'dream' house, but it's a house and we couldn't be more excited! It's been such a long and tedious process trying to find a house in our price range, close to my parents and just the right size. The one we're hoping to get needs work. But it's all things that can be done in time and Chris and I are willing to work hard and fix it up and make it ours. It's got 5 bedrooms two full baths and enough room for us :D

So other than work and everyday stuff, that's what's been going on lately.

Hopefully my posts will be less farther and fewer in between!
